Exported files (all types) are Black

Post by ravd »

I have just upgraded to V4 deluxe. When exporting my current project, never mind what format, the movies are completely black, while the preview loop shows the right images. Anyone any ideas??? I am probably overlooking the obvious, but I have done the same things as in V3 std.ed. and that worked well.

Such a strange problem! I now can only suggest that you upgrade the display driver or turn off the "Use Hardware Acceleration" option in the Export window and try again.
The export method used in V4 is a little different with V3. We would like to track your case to find out if there is a problem on particular display cards.

Test seq.1
open recent project
export to flash {hw accel OFF}.
Bingo... working flash file, autostarted ok.

test seq 2.
same project
export to flash (hw accl ON)
Bingo again, but old problem visible, or rather not, image completely black.

Observation: export runs much faster with HW Accl ON, but result is black screen.

Do you need any other tests performed, if so what kind?

What (hw sw) info do you need further?

Regards

Robert

Please tell us the specification of your PC to help us find out the reason.
OS: _____________
Display Card Type: _____________
Screen Resolution: _____________
Color Quality: _____________

Meanwhile it is strongly recommended to upgrade your display driver. For example, if you are using a NVIDIA card, please download the latest driver from NVIDIA site at http://www.nvidia.com, install it, restart Windows, and then try out FantaMorph again. If you are using other display card, please download the latest driver from its manufacturer's site.

Hi Fantam,

updated to latest available driver from Dell
ran tests:

HW Acc ON >> black
HW Acc OFF >> working flash file!!!

Dell Inspiron 6000 1,73GHz, 1GB
OS: Win XP SP@ fully patched V5.1.2600
Display Card Type: ATI Mobility Radeon X300

Running windows Extended Desktop

Laptop display

Color Quality: 32 bit

Additional Screen Dell 19" FP1905 (second display on same adapter)

Update received / tested

Post by ravd »

Fantam,

I received the update. Tested it with the project that failed earlier on. Works now. THNX for the support in this. Question was it the display driver or the windows extended desktop that caused it to fail?

Best regards

We're glad to know it works now.
We think the problem is caused by the display driver (or the card essentially). The OpenGL display mode with hardware acceleration we used in the first version is not fully supported in your system. Now we use another OpenGL display mode supported by your display card in the update version so it works.
However, this mode may causes a new problem. We have just sent you an email , please test it under the instructions and tell us the result. Hope we can find the best solution soon.
Again, thank you for your time and collaboration.

We did not receive your last email. Anyway, thank you for the reply posted on this forum.
Now please redownload the update program from http://www.fantamorph.com/download/upda ... aMorph.exe and replace the main program C:\Program Files\Abrosoft\FantaMorph4\FantaMorph.exe on your machine.
In this update, a "software mixing" algorithm was added for the machines that don't support "hardware mixing". Hope this update will work for your system. If so, we'll publish this update in the official download page soon.
