Lesson 3 - Add Key Dots |
1. Now, the most important work is to place key dots on
both source images in order to define how the morph will operate. It's good to
place dots on the major elements of a morphing image (for example of a face
image, the major elements include eyes, nose, mouth, etc.). In this lesson,
we'll start by placing dots around the eyes of both images.
2. Click mouse left button, a dot will appear on image 1. Notice that a corresponding dot will appear automatically on the opposite image (image2) in the same location for every dot you add to image 1. In most cases, the corresponding dot needs to be moved to the suitable position by yourself.
3. Add three or more dots for the other corners of the eye (the more dots you place on the elements of your image, the better your morph result will be). Note that all dots are the same color as default. You can turn on the "Color Cycle" switch from Tools/Option menu, then 8 basic colors will cycle across the dots. This feature can make the dot pairs be distinguished easily.
4. When you move cursor over a dot on image 2, the cursor shape will be added a 4 way arrow to show that the dot can be dragged now. You may drag it to the corresponding position where the partner dot is located on. Notice that the movie morph will be proceeding synchronously when dragging key dot occurs. It is great for checking if the location of a dot is correct. Please look at the portion in the red box below, is this the exciting effect we expected almost!
5. After more key dots were added by the same manner as before, the preview at 50% lines up much better. We used a total of 57 dots for this example, but more dots is always better. If you like, go ahead and add 10, 50 or even more dots to your own morphs. The more dots you add, the better the morph will be, since the key features will line up even better. Look at the morph image again, who is she?
